Guided Choices

This page provides an overview of all subjects studied at The Burgess Hill Academy during Key Stage 4, including both core and option subjects, to support students and parents during the Guided Choices process.

Parents and carers are encouraged to explore the Guided Choices Subject Directory, which outlines what each subject involves, how it is assessed, the skills that support success, and how subjects may link to future study or career pathways.

Beneath each subject, you will also find a short subject video, presented by the subject leader, which provides additional insight into the course and what students can expect.

The information reflects the current exam board specifications and the courses we intend to offer for the 2026–2028 cohort.

While every effort is made to deliver the courses as outlined, final subject availability may be influenced by student numbers, staffing, and timetable constraints.
